Pro Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson had a great view on where America should go. He believed America should encourage agriculture, not factories. Jefferson believed America should use the abundant resources to trade with other countries to make money and get what is needed.

  1. People should own and work their land to make money and food.

People would be better making there own food to eat so they know they have it. They can control what they are making for money and food. People will have more money because only the owner of a factory gets rich. A democracy is more possible when people own farms.

  1. We can trade to get the things we want.

Other countries have a lot of facories and need agriculturial products. We can trade to get what we need and give them what they need. Once we have more then we need we will trade it and get products we need. By this we will grow rich, life becomes easier, and the population will increase.

  1. Democracy is not possible in real industrial countries.

A democracy depends on education. Factories make the kids work day and night giving them little time off. If we want the government to work in the future the next generation will have to be educated. That will not happen if they are all working in factories. Farming is more laid back and kids will have more time to go to school. The kids can help on the farms to help their family. They can work to help grow the crops to make money rather than work all day in a factory.

Thomas Jefferson has a much better view on were America should go. These are just three reason why Jefferson's view is better ,and if we want our democracy to work then we must go with Jefferson.

i agree, Jeferson had a good idea for our country. This should have been followed because then we would have a wealthier stronger country. This was a smarter idea than Hamilton's plan.

Trading to get the things we want is not as easy as it sounds. We just finished a war against Great Britain, and Washington recently signed the Neutrality Proclamation, which could easily make countries in Europe like France and Great Britain mad at us. If I were France, I would be furious, because they sent over troops to help in the Revolutionary War, and now America is not going to help us in our war. And adding to that, a surplus of crops is not going to happen every day. Actually, it rarely happens, further explaining why trading for everything is a bad idea, if even possible.
