Con Closing Arguments

Even though the confederates lost, they fought using all the abilities they had. The Union had access to much more that helped them win. The Confederates had good officers and their soldiers knew the land. The south was also known to be better horse riders and therefore they would have good Calvary. They could also load and fire fast so they would be able to shoot faster. But on the other hand the Union took longer to shoot. The North had a good president that could lead them through tough decisions. The Union had about 3 times the people the south did. They also had a lot of factories so they could build more supplies and at a faster speed than the south. The North was richer then the south so they could have all the supplies they needed. But all together it was an almost equal war and the Confederates did have a chance of winning but they lost gradually to the North.

I agree with this post because the confederacy didnt stand a chance against the union. Like bronte said the union had them beat in population 4 to 1. Also, even if the confederacy had more soldiers and officers they would not stand a chance.

I can agree with this because even though the North had a lot more factories and more money, the South had better trained soldiers and they knew the land better than the North did. They worked hard during the war because they wanted it to be over fast. This helped them because they could hide and make a surprise attack on the Union army. It helped them to have good trained soldiers because they could change their weapons faster. The South may have had a smaller army, but they still fought the war very defensively.

I agree with Bronte. The south put up a very good defense considering that the north had an elxtremely greater advantage. They had population, presidential leadership, railroads, and factories, whereas the south only had familiarity with land, and better devoted officers and soldiers. They clearly used that to their advantage because they were close to winning the war many times. In conclusion, I believe that the Confederacy did very well in the war, but they should have known the union was destined to win.

i agree and disagree at the same time. I don't believe it was very equal.i believe that the north had a higher chance of winning all along.a leader, supplies, and strength matters the most in the war.that is why i believe they won.
